WASHINGTON — U.S. Rep. Ann Kirkpatrick, D-Ariz., is pleased to announced that Page Municipal Airport will receive a $902,500 grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation to construct a taxiway, install airfield guidance signs and rehabilitate runway lighting.

The grant will fund construction of a 191-foot taxiway connector to Runway 7, full rehabilitation of the Runway 15/33 lighting system to enhance safety during low visibility, and full rehabilitation of the current Taxiway A lighting system to enhance safety during low visibility. It will also fund the replacement of 32 airfield guidance signs to enhance aircraft visual guidance and safety.

“These improvements and repairs are important to Page Municipal Airport, which plays a key role in northern Arizona's economy,” Kirkpatrick said. “This airport handles commercial flights to Phoenix, Denver and Los Angeles and serves as a hub for visitors to natural wonders such as the Grand Canyon National Park, Lake Powell, Arches National Park, Bryce Canyon and Zion National Park.”

Kirkpatrick, who serves on the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, earlier this month announced nearly $970,000 in grants for rural airports in Gila, Graham and Pinal counties.
