U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida will hold an Aug. 13 fundraiser at the Colts Neck home of Juan and Marta Gutierrez.

"I have known Senator Marco Rubio ever since his days as Speaker of the Florida House of Representatives, and I believe in him," reads the invitation from Juan Gutierrez, obtained by NJ Advance Media. "He is a youthful, energetic leader with a message our nation desperately needs to hear. He is prepared to address the challenges we face as a nation and to lead America to a better future. America needs bold new ideas; Marco will deliver them."

The Gutierrezes are Cuban exiles, and the Miami-born Rubio is also of Cuban heritage. The couple are major political donors, and hosted then-president George W. Bush at their home for a Republican fundraiser in 2008. They have also given money to many Democrats, including Cuban-Americans U.S. Sen. Robert Menendez (D-N.J.) and U.S. Rep. Albio Sires (D-8th Dist.).

Juan Gutierrez owns Farmingdale-based Northeast Remsco Construction.

Tickets for the fundraiser start at $500 per person for the general reception and $2,700 per person for a VIP reception and photo.

Christie, who is widely expected to run for president, has said he'll make a decision this month.
